Patna: April 29, 2008
Residents of Patna on Tuesday took part in a motorcycle rally organized by the Pushpanjali Jan Kalyan Samiti in an attempt to increase awareness about AIDS that continues to take its toll in Bihar and elsewhere.
The rally was flagged off from Kargil Chowk near Gandhi Maidan by Vishal Singh, the joint director of the Bihar State AIDS Control Committee.
With over 50 bikers in the rally, the participants, while on their way to the finish line near the Shaheed Smarak, distributed literature and condoms to the people who received them with cheer and bottles of water.
Committee president Shashi Bhushan Srivastava lauded the citizens’ attempt to spread awareness about AIDS saying only with proper knowledge of the disease one could successfully hope to bring a permanent end to it.
