Bodyguard Accuses MLA of Sexual Exploitation. Photo by Shashi UttamCongress leaders in Bihar were busy distancing themselves from the party legislature from Katihar Sunita Devi after her former security guard Baleshwar Singh Sharma filed an FIR with the Kotwali police station in Patna on Tuesday accusing her of forcing him into sexual shenanigans with her.

Sharma who had been Sunita Devi’s personal bodyguard for two years, in his report, said the legislator had forced him to have sexual dalliance with him on a number of occasions and when he wished to walk away from her, she threatened him of dire consequences if he went public about their relationship.

Visibly perturbed by the damning allegations, Sunita Devi denied the charges saying she had always treated Sharma as her brother.

“I am with the Congress Party for well over two decades and have played major role in shaping the party in the state. Throughout this time, my image has remained clean and this kind of baseless allegations only goes to prove that Sharma is out to get me for cheap publicity and possibly financial gains,” Sunita Devi said adding she fired Sharma after some cash and jewelries went missing from her house.

“When I turned down his request for a loan of Rs. 10 lakh, he made up all these stories of sexual exploitation in an attempt to blackmail me,” she said.
