Monazir Meets with other Rebel JD-U Leaders
Patna: April 30, 2008
Over a dozen dissident Janata Dal (U) legislators in Patna on Wednesday held a meeting at the ousted Building Construction Minister Monazir Hasan’s house to plan for a full frontal attack on the party leadership after he and a few others were issued show-cause notices to explain their anti-party activities in the follow up of their removal from the state Cabinet.
“I am being targeted because I have chosen to reveal some very damaging truths about the Nitish government,” Hasan who has demanded a CBI enquiry after accusing the government of massive corruption, said.
He, however, downplayed the Wednesday meet at his house saying they were only there to wish him well.
“They have expressed their support for me and have said that they would not remain quiet while the government engages in huge corrupt practices.
Interestingly, Hasan started to play the ‘corruption’ tune only after he was removed from the Cabinet on the basis of non-performance during the last reshuffle of the government a few weeks ago.
Among those who visited Hasan on Wednesday included Munna Shukla, Renu Kumari, Ram Pravesh Rai, Lalan Paswan, Vishwamohan Kumar, and Ajit Kumar – all from the JD-U.
