Rare Books and Manuscripts on Display at Khudabaksh Library

Hundreds of history buffs and experts in Patna on Tuesday paid a visit to the Khudabaksh Library to view rare books and manuscripts written during the Mughal period after the library, to mark the Khudabaksh Day, put them up for day-long public display.
Featuring books like 'Diwan-e-Humayun' created by the second Mughal emperor himself in the 16th century, the visitors got the rare opportunity to see manuscripts written by historians, poets, and foreign visitors over 5 centuries ago in a number of languages including Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, Arabi, and Awadhi.
Extremely rare literature including Al Isharat, Brahma Puran and the Killing of Mahishasur written on talpatras, Bhagwad Gita written in Awadhi and Urdu and books on physics and mathematics were among hundreds of other books and literature that kept drawing the attention of the visitors who could not seem to get enough of history in one day.
The program was inaugurated by noted Urdu poet and former Secretary of the Delhi Urdu Academy Makhmur Sayeedi in the presence of library Director Imtiaz Ahmed and other prominent poets and writers.
