Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a function organized at his residence on 1 Anne Marg in Patna on Saturday, handed over appointment letters to 320 Assistant saying Bihar needs development, development demands construction, and construction requires engineers.

Photo by Anupam Singh."All of us need to be working in total synch with our goal of a developed Bihar by 2015 and I expect our engineers to make valuable contribution in the areas of water resources, Public Health and Engineering, and road construction department," the Chief Minister said.

Taking aim at his old nemesis and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Kumar said the Railway Minister was the 'Messiah of Pessimism' and was creating confusion about the Bihar government by ignoring facts and truth concerning progress taking place in Bihar.

Kumar also took the opportunity to honor nine engineers related with the Water Resources Department for doing an excellent job during the flood season in Bagaha last year and rewarded four engineers of the Bridge Construction Corporation involved in the Dubba Ghat Bridge Construction project.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, PHED Minister Prem Kumar, and Water Resources and Transport Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
