As reported, 50-year old Om Prakash Singh's lifeless body was discovered by his room-mate Nathun Yadav when he returned to his room at 4:00 am after pulling an all-nighter patrolling the streets of Patna.

Yadav said a police rifle was clamped between his legs and had bullet wounds on his chest piercing his heart and coming out of his back.

Angry well-wishers marching with the body of the victim, arrived at the Kargil Chowk where the scene soon turned into a riot-like situation forcing the administration to bring in anti-riot vehicle and other paraphernalia to keep the situation under control.

Town DSP Sanjay Singh and Gandhi Maidan police station in-charge Nissar Ahmed rushed to the troubled site and tried to negotiate with the protestors.

Following the assurance of Rs. 10,000 in compensation money, the protestors took the body to the Bans Ghat where Singh was cremated in the presence of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Ram Kripal Yadav.
