CM, Governor Pays Respect to Shivpujan Sahay

Governor R. L. Bhatia and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Saturday, placed garlands at the picture of noted litterateur Acharya Shivpujan Sahay to mark his 115th birth anniversary at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna on Saturday.
Besides the Governor and the CM, Parliamentary Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh and other NDA leaders also paid their respects to the writer who had the fortune to work with the likes of veteran Hindi authors like Premchand, Dr. Jaishankar Prasad, and Acharya Ramlochan Saran.
Born in 1893 near Buxar, Sahay wrote and edited for various newspapers and magazines in Bihar, Kolkata, and Varanasi.
Sahay, the editor of well-known children's magazine of the time 'Balak', also served as Professor of Hindi at Rajendra College in Chhapra. Later he became the Director of the Bihar Rashtra Bhasha Parishad and was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award in 1960.
Shivpujan Sahay died on January 21, 1963.
