Jeep-Bus Collision Kills Five People in Munger

Five people were killed and at least nine injured when a jeep carrying them from Deoghar to Munger crashed into a bus coming from the opposite direction on way to Deoghar to mark the last Sunday of the Shrawan season.

The accident took place near Bochahi village when the jeep, while attempting to avoid some pedestrians, crashed into a bus, also carrying devotees, head on, killing 5 of the occupants on the spot.

Those with minor injuries were taken to a local hospital in Munger while six others who received life-threatening wounds had to be rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH).

The police identified the deceased as Manoj Mandal, Ashok Mandal, Umesh Mandal, Pravin Singh, and Dhanush Tanti.
