Bomb Scare in Patna

Panic ensued on Daldali Road under Gandhi Maidan police station in Patna on Monday when some passers-by found an abandoned suitcase giving rise to a bomb scare leading the police to bring in the bomb-sniffing dogs though after much drama, it turned out to be a false alarm.

As reported, the police, even after the bomb-sniffing canine indicated of no bomb in the suitcase, officials were reluctant to go near it.

Finally, Subodh Prasad Mandal, the dog squad handler, picked up the case and hauled it to the Gandhi Maidan police station where, as other cops ran to take cover, he opened it only to find some old clothing.

Officials said some thief or suitcase snatcher at Patna Junction or bus station could have left the suitcase on the street though that could not be confirmed.
