Transport Minister Demands Actions
Patna: Aug. 19, 2008
Transport Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, at a meeting of the Transport Department officials in Patna on Tuesday, in no uncertain terms warned the officials of tough disciplinary measures if they failed to perform diligently or failed to report to duty citing flimsy reasons.
The officials will now be required to work two weeks each in two separate districts each month and will also be required to show their presence in the office of the District Magistrate's office.
Yadav further said in the meeting that no salary would be paid to the District Transport Officers (DTOs) and the Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs) if the department's revenue did not increase substantially. Proceedings have already begun against five DTOs for worst performance and similar actions would be taken against those who failed to reach the department's goal, he said. |
