Photo by Anupam SinghDeputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, while inaugurating the opening of the Institute of Company Secretary at a function organized at Patna Planetarium on Wednesday urged the youths of Bihar to opt for business and vocations trainings instead of the usual, run-of-the-mill degrees in order to remain competitive in the global trade environment.

"Such courses give you more edge over other graduates, even more than those graduating with science degrees," said Modi in his keynote speech.

Once again praising the talents of Bihar, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the educational scenario under the 3-year old NDA government in the state, had undergone a metamorphic change with a lot more options for the students that they had just a few years ago.

Insisting on honing skills in computers and English language, Modi said that without the knowledge of the two, one could not expect to survive in a global, competitive world.

The Institute of Company Secretary of India has been set up under the Public-Private Partnership under a Parliament Act, Institute's regional chairman Mukesh Chaturvedi said adding for a mere 15-20 rupees, one could complete the course either in Hindi or English language.

Others present on the occasion included Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Arun Kumar Sinha, Nitin Navin, Mangal Pandey, Institute President K. Bakshi, Institute General Secretary N. K. Jain and Ambedkar Institute of Higher Education official K. K. Kumar.

Similar institutes would soon be opened in Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur, Bakshi said.
