Congress Activists Protest Anil Sharma's Appointment as BPCC Chief

Disgruntled over the appointment of Anil Sharma as the Congress chief in Bihar, Congress leaders in Patna on Friday staged a dharna at the Income Tax Roundabout to demand the recall of Sharma and withdrawal of the show-cause notice against two party activists.

Shambhu Nath Sinha, party member, in his address, accused the party high command for installing Sharma 'as a stooge of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)' saying the move was certain to further weaken the party in Bihar.

"This is a conspiracy that we would not allow to succeed," Sinha said.

Demanding withdrawal of the show-cause notice to two of the Youth Congress leaders Sanjeev Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, Sinha said that the actions against them were against the basic tenet of democratic values and were blatant attempts to crush the voice of those who refused to tow lines with the party's dictatorial leadership.
