Lalu's Nephew Finds his Voice
Patna: February 2, 2008
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's nephew Nagendra Rai, after having tried his luck in politics, sports, business, and crime, is now ready to try his fortune in showbiz as he released his first Bhojpuri song album at a function held at Hotel Maurya in Patna on Saturday.
The album titled 'Deewana Kailu Gori' features several Bhojpuri songs sung by Rai who, some said, has a good voice and tone and may in fact succeed in this area after having failed miserably in politics and sports and having spent some time in prison on charges of running an extortion gang near Raja Bazaar in Patna.
Prominent social worker Anil Sulabh released the album that also features songs by other lesser-known Bhojpuri singers including Munna Singh, Montu Singh, Sanjeet Rai, and Indu Singh.
Rai also sang the title song of the albums and earned huge applause from the guests.
