Minister Reviews Over-bridge Constructions in Bihar

Patna: February 6, 2008

Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, at a meeting of the department officials on Wednesday, reviewed reports on all fourteen Railway over-bridges in Bihar to gauge their progress and discuss any problem or hurdles associated with them.

Yadav directed the officials to ensure the over-bridge in Bahadurpur and Chiraiyantand were completed no later than March 31 to lessen some of the traffic burden on Patna streets.

Out of 14 Railway bridges to be built across the state, seven are in Patna while 2 in Muzaffarpur, 2 in Rohtas, and one each in Gaya, Kaimur, and Darbhanga.

The minister also directed the officials to initiate construction works on the Agam Kuan over-bridge by June and others by December 2008.

The meeting was also attended by department's chief secretary Rajkumar Singh, Bridge Construction Corporation chairperson P. Amrit, managing direct A. K. Singh and IRCON general manager B. P. Singh.

The state has already made available its share of the expenses to IRCON.
