Photo by Shashi UttamDaylong drizzling in the state capital on Friday once again brought the city to its knees dumping more than 7 mm of rain water while disrupting the normal life for many including delaying the former President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's visit to Nalanda.

The rain also caused sharp dip in the temperature with the westerly wind picking up to more than 40 kmph at times making cold appear even colder than normal.

The sudden change in the weather also had its impact on the flight schedules at the Patna Airport where Patna-Delhi Indian Airlines flight 410 was delayed for nearly two hours. Conditions are, however, expected to improve by Sunday with a slight rise in the temperature and end of the rain, weather experts at the Patna Meteorological Center said.

While the unexpected rain is expected to help the wheat crop, mango trees are said to have taken the worst beating causing a possibly shortage of mangoes this season, farmers outside Bihta said.
