Jewelry, Electronic Shops Burglarized in Phulwari
Patna: February 8, 2008
Criminals in Patna on late Thursday night broke into two jewelry shops owned by two brothers in Phulwarisharif area and stole gold and silver jewelries including hundreds of watches for a total of over Rs. 7 lakh, the police confirmed.
Interestingly, the crooks only took away the real gold ornaments and not the look-alikes or fake indicating the criminals had at least one person in the gang who was an expert in gold and silver.
As reported, some people in the area on Friday morning noticed the shops broken into and informed their owners. When Hari Narayan and Rajesh Kumar arrived at the stores that face each other, they found them ransacked and all valuables and cash missing.
The criminals also burglarized Sahil Auto Electronics in Sipara and stole close to 400 pieces of watches, 4 DVD players, and thousands of rupees in cash.
A crime unit of the Gardanibagh police arrived at the scene and collected fingerprints and other evidences. So far no arrest has been made in any case.
In last six weeks alone, nearly half a dozen jewelry shops have been burglarized in Patna and its vicinity. The police have yet to solve even a single case.
