Refusing to back down from his early insensitive and provocative statements demeaning people from the northern India, particularly those from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday describing people from Bihar and UP of harboring and promoting 'gunda culture'.
Considered to be a 'gunda' (criminal) himself by most north Indians, Thackeray said whatever he had said earlier was true and he had no intention to issue an apology despite mounting pressure on him.
"Mumbai is for Marathis and those who want to settle in Maharashtra must adhere to Marathi ways of life or get out of Maharashtra," the MNS chief said.
Thackeray also took a stab at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav saying the two leaders were engaging in regional politics by making Chhath a national issue.
"When Amitabh Bachchan talks about Uttar Pradesh or Saurav Ganguly talks about West Bengal, no one calls them regionalists but when I talk about the interests of Marathis, I get labeled as divisive, separatist, and a regionalist," complained the MNS chief.
Meanwhile, members of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in Patna on Saturday took out a 'donkey rally' to protest against Thackeray.
With more than half-a-dozen donkeys in the rally, the LJP activists compared Thackeray with the jackasses while demanding his immediate arrest.
