State Human Resources Minister Brishan Patel, at the conclusion of the National Trade Expo 2008 at the local Miller High School ground on Monday, said that under the NDA administration, business and investment prospect had grown several fold in Bihar and a number of prominent industrialists, including Sunil Mittal, have shown interest in investing in the state.
"Trade fairs like these are only indicative of a changed environment in Bihar for which Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is working relentlessly," said Patel.
Clarifying about the government's decision to ban holding of such fairs at the Miller High School ground in future, Patel said the decision was taken keeping the students' interests in mind but it could change its pronouncement provided regular school schedule was not interrupted.
Naushad Ahmed, the Minority Commission chairperson, said in the past months several trade fairs had been organized in Patna indicating those who had given up on Bihar a few years ago are now having a second thought about the state.
At the conclusion of the fair, the organizers gave out prizes to the best stalls with Kitchen King bagging the first place while Sanyo-BPL and Niti Raj Enterprises earned the second and third place awards respectively.
Prizes in the Durable Consumer category were given out to Hilton, Active Furniture, and Patanjali respectively.
