Patna: February 12, 2008

With all roads in Patna leading to various ghats by the Ganges, heavy rush was seen on Boring Road, Bailey Road, Kadam Kuan, Ashok Rajpath, and Kankarbagh where dozens of organizers joined the long procession to the river where some even rented boats to immerse the statues much farther from the banks.

All was not good though as over-zealous students clashed with each other at Nala Road and Krishna Ghat.

Thanks to the presence of a large number of police officials in the region, tension between the residents of the two hostels was diffused within minutes.

Meanwhile on Nala Road, two groups of students living in the Saidpur Hostel clashed with each other while leaving for the river for Saraswati's idol immersion.

While the cause of clash remains unknown, police were able to control the situation before things got way out of hand.
