Dozens of angry members of the Jan Kalyan Kshatriya Yuva Manch in Patna on Sunday vandalized Ashok Cinema for playing Ashutosh Gowarikar's Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starring Hindi flick 'Jodha Akbar' claiming the film distorts the history and depicts Rajputs in a negative light.

The film that has already created emotional and political furor in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and many other places, evoked similar response in Patna when protestors destroyed posters and banners outside Ashok cinema and demanded stop on screening the movie or else face dire consequences.

With situation fast getting out of control, the administrator dispatched anti-riot vehicles and a contingent of armed police force as senior police officials including the DSP (Law and Order) Kumar Amar Singh and Kotwali police station in-charge Abhay Narayan Singh tried to negotiate with the protestors to retreat and end their protest.

After much convincing, the protestors backed up but not before promising to reinstate their agitation on Monday if the theater failed to pull the plug on the film by then.
