Patna: February 27, 2008

Armed criminals under Sri Krishnapuri police station in Patna on Wednesday robbed a printing press employee of Rs. 1 lakh as he returned to his office after drawing cash from the Punjab National Bank, officials in Patna said.

The incident occurred when Ajay Kumar, an employee of Chowdhary Printing Press in Punaichak area, was returning to his workplace on his motorcycle after withdrawing Rs. 2 lakh from the bank.

When he reached Rajesh Path near the railroad track, suddenly he was overtaken by two youths on a motorcycle. After sticking a gun to his head, the criminals snatched Rs. 1 lakh from his pant pocket and escaped on their motorcycle.

Fortunately, the criminals overlooked Ajay's shirt pocket that contained the other Rs. 1 lakh that he had withdrawn from the bank.
