CM's Mother Undergoes Surgery

 Parmeshwari Devi, the 89-years old mother of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Thursday successfully underwent a hernia surgery at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology in Patna under the care of noted surgeons Dr. S. N. Arya and Dr. Basant Kumar Sinha.
Kumar who remained at the hospital throughout the surgery period said his mother had regained consciousness and was talking to the family members and her doctors.
Talking to the reporters, Institute's director Dr. S. N. Mishra said Mrs. Devi who already suffers from heart ailments was having trouble related to hernia for nearly three weeks. At her doctor's recommendation, she was admitted in the hospital on Wednesday night.
Health Minister Chandramohan Rai and Health Secretary Deepak Kumar also visited the hospital to enquire about the Chief Minister's mother.
