Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while paying his homage to the nation's first President Rajendra Prasad at his shrine at Rajendra Ghat in Patna on Thursday to mark his 46th death anniversary, asked the Central government to help build a national memorial for his sacrifice and services to the nation.

Kumar also directed the Building Construction secretary Arun Kumar Sinha to start working on a beautification process for the President's shrine

Artists representing the Information and Public Relations Department presented religious songs while the Armed Police gave salute to Dr. Prasad.

Representatives of the President and the Prime Minister of India and the Governor of Bihar also placed wreath at the first President's place of cremation.
