Hundreds of political leaders and activists, on Tuesday, made a beeline at the Chief Minister's residence in Patna to wish him a happy new year while the ruling party leaders played the host carefully avoiding any political question saying the entire year was ahead of them to discuss politics.
Despite heavy security arrangement, the door at the 1 Anne Marg was virtually opened to anyone and everyone bringing flowers or other gifts to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who was surrounded by other leaders including Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, the Speaker of the Bihar Assembly Uday Narayan Chowdhary, Janata Dal (U) state president Rajiv Ranjan Singh and other prominent faces of the ruling parties.
Kumar urged all the visitors to pray for Bihar and its steady progress saying that though the government was engaged in various developmental schemes, without the sincere wishes of the people of the state, no change was possible.
The Chief Minister also appealed to all party activists to go to their native places and apprise the people of the works being done by the NDA government.
"The state has made tremendous progress in the last two years but we are nowhere near our goal. These things do take time but I want people to know that the government is working day in and day out to ensure it keeps its promises it made to the people of Bihar," the Chief Minister said adding in the new year the government intended to work even harder to bring positive changes in the state.
