Lalu's Sons Land in Trouble over Eve-teasing
New Delhi: January 2, 2008
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's two sons, on the New Year's eve in Delhi, ran into forces more powerful than them when a group of young men, in spite of the presence of an armed personal bodyguard, gave them a good thrashing after the two were allegedly found engaging in eve-teasing, reports said.
Tarun and Tejpal Yadav, apparently too much into the New Year's revelry, were first reported to be misbehaving with young girls at the Hotel Ashoka. From there, they proceeded to Connaught Place where a number of events were being held to mark the arrival of the New Year.
Continuing their party-hopping, the two moved to the Delhi-Haryana border to attend yet another party.
Their luck, however, ran out when they passed some comments at some girls at a private party near Mehrauli.
As reported, a group of young men, annoyed by the Railway Minister's sons' uncouth behavior, decided to take on them and beat them up in full view of the dumbfounded personal guard who not only failed to break the fight, but also lost his service pistol to one of the young men in the scuffle.
The two who suffered minor bruises and cuts were taken to a hospital where they were given first aid and allowed to go.
While no police report was filed against Tarun and Tajpal Yadav, the police has filed a case against the youths for assaulting a police officer and stealing a police weapon.
The Yadavs have yet to make any comment on the incident.
