Mob Damages School Bus after Accident on Bailey Road

Patna: January 2, 2008

An angry mob on Bailey Road in Patna on Wednesday damaged a school bus after it hit a woman pedestrian near the Income Tax roundabout sending her to a hospital.

Fortunately, there were no children in the bus when the accident took place, the police said.

As reported, the driver of the bus owned by Premlok Mission School lost control of the wheel near the Income Tax roundabout and hit a woman throwing her several feet on the road.

She was rushed to a local hospital where she remained in serious, though non-life threatening, condition.

While the driver of the bus and his assistant managed to escape from the scene of the accident, a mob surrounded the bus and damaged it with stones and steel rods.

The situation was brought under control after the Kotwali police arrived and managed to disperse the crowd.
