Man Arrested with 20 kg of Ganja from Patna Bus Station

Patna: January 3, 2008

The police in Patna on Thursday night busted a man at Mithapur bus stand with over 20 kilogram of ganja headed to Bikramganj in Patna district with a street value of over Rs. 50,000, authorities in Patna said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police organized a search at the Mithapur bus stand and arrested one Kashinath Sah of Bhojpur district who was carrying the contraband carefully sealed in four layers of ordinary sack, the police said.

During his questioning, Sah told the police that the drug had arrived in Patna by train from Siliguri in Assam and was en route to Bikramganj where local drug lord were to take possession of the contraband for street sale.

The police are grilling the man in the hope of busting the entire network of the drug smugglers, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan said.
