Couples Robbed of Rs. 47,000 in Rajiv Nagar

Patna: January 5, 2008

Criminals in Rajiv Nagar under Pataliputra police station robbed an CISF commandant and his wife at gun point and escaped with of Rs. 47,000 in cash and a gold chain on Saturday afternoon.

According to an FIR lodged by the victims, Anjani Kumar Singh and his wife Seema Singh were returning to their home in Rajiv Nagar in their car after withdrawing Rs. 47,000 from the Boring Road branch of the State Bank of India.

When the couple's car arrived at Road No. 2 of Rajiv Nagar, four criminals on two motorcycles ambushed the car and forced the couples to pull over in an isolated location. and forced them to hand them over their cash.

Before leaving, the criminals also snatched a gold chain from the neck of Seema Singh.

This is the second such incident in two days after criminals in Kankarbagh on Friday robbed one Narendra Nath Mishra of Rs. 48,000 in cash.

The police are investigating both cases.
