Returning Haj Pilgrims File Complaint against Air India
Patna: January 7, 2008
Disgruntled Muslim pilgrims returning from Jeddah, on Monday, filed an official complaint against the Air India for mismanaging their trip causing inordinate delay at the airports, lost luggage, and overall mistreatment of the passengers including poor food service during the flight.
In his complaint, Dr. Sajid Ali of Sitamarhi said the pilgrims had to wait two days at the Jeddah airport to catch their flights back to India.
"The airlines failed to make any arrangement for the travelers' convenience who were ignored from the very get-go. To add insult to injury, the airlines lost luggage of over 500 passengers in Jeddah and Kolkata airports," Ali said.
Meanwhile, the state has arranged for four more aircrafts to accommodate the Haj pilgrims and to avoid delays in their departure from Jeddah and Kolkata.
