International Trade Expo Concludes; LG Wins Best Pavilion Award

Patna: January 8, 2008

The 11-day first International Patna Expo at Gandhi Maidan came to an end on Tuesday with the organizers promising to host an even bigger and better show next year to make it a truly global annual event.

The concluding day featured what the organizers called the ‘Dinosaur Dance’ followed by award ceremony conducted by the Bihar Chamber of Commerce.

Electronic giant LG was given the all-round best award for having the most attractive pavilion while other companies like BSNL, Tata Indicom, Godrej, and Jute Manufacturer Development Council were also given special awards for running top-notch shows.

Organizers said that with the changed entrepreneurial scenario under the Nitish government, business prospects were looking up in the state and an event like this would only help attract big business houses to Bihar.

With 300 stalls featuring products from a host of nations including Pakistan, China, Egypt, Kenya, Bangladesh, and India, more than 2 lakh people attended the fair, officials said.
