Officials at a function organized to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Ganesh Dutt at Sir Ganesh Dutt Memorial College in Patna on Sunday said that now, more than ever before, there was a pressing need of following the path of the educationist as that would be the best tribute to the man whose contribution in the field of education was invaluable.

The event was attended by several eminent personalities from Bihar including noted film-maker Prakash Jha who showed a short film based on the life and works of Sir Dutt.

The program was inaugurated by Sant Shiromani Ram Prapannayachara while I. C. Kumar, the former Vice Chancellor of Veer Kunwar Singh University, released a memento in honor of Sir Dutt, the founder of Sir Ganesh Dutt Pataliputra School in Patna decades ago.

Meanwhile, yet another function in honor of Sir Dutt was organized at Sir Ganesh Dutt Pataliputra Inter School where students pledged to follow on the principles of the academician.

The event was presided over by legislator Arun Kumar Sinha and attended by a number of prominent personalities including the Additional Director General of Police Abhayanand, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science (IGIMS) director Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh and many others.
