Poet, Author Honored for their Works

Noted poet Pankaj Singh and critically acclaimed author Karmendu Shishir were honored with 'Shamsher Samman - 2007' at a function organized at the Bihar Middle Teachers' Association Bhawan in Patna on Sunday for their outstanding contributions in the field of literature.
Noted literary critic Dr. Khagendra Thakur, while presiding over the event, said that such awards go a long way in promoting literary creativity among budding authors while recognizing the work of the writers.
Other names in the arena of literature including playwright Shashank, poets Alok Dhanwa and Arun Kamal were also present on the occasion.
Shashank, while reading passages from Singh and Shishir's books, talked about their works and how they were inspired by the works of poet Shamsher.
Following the award ceremony, a poetry recital was also organized in which poets presented their own poems much to the delight of the audience.
