Mobile Shop Owners Shot During Robbery Attempt

Armed criminals in Patna on Saturday, while trying to rob a mobile phone show room in Kankarbagh are, shot the two brothers and owners of the shop but managed to escape with only two cell phones and two wrist watches thanks to the bravado of the two brothers.

As reported, five youths on motorcycles arrived at the two-storied shop located near Tiwari Bechar in Kankarbagh. Pretending to be customers, the criminals moved to the first floor where they took one of the brothers Bihari Lal hostage and went on to ransack the place.

The criminals filled up bags with new cell phone sets and also grabbed hold of Rs. 70,000 in cash. When Bihari Lal tried to put up a resistance, the criminals shot him in his abdomen and tried to escape.

Hearing the gunshot, Bihar's brother Murari Lal and other employees on the lower floor rushed to the first floor when the criminals also shot Murari Lal and escaped.

Both brothers were rushed to a hospital where they were said to be out of any danger.

Later, during the search of the crime scene, the police found that the criminals, in their rush to escape, dropped the bag with mobile phones and Rs. 70,000 inside the store and got away with only two phone sets and two watches.

Attempts were being made to identify and apprehend the criminals, City SP Anwar Hussain said.
