RJD Observes Black Day to Protest against Firing in Kahalgaon
Patna: January 20, 2008
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders in Patna on Sunday observed what they called 'the Black Day' to protest against police firing in Kahalgaon in which four people died over the weekend.
Leading the procession, former state Power Minister Shyam Rajak and party MP Ram Kripal Yadav held Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar responsible for poor power situation in Bihar and the police firing in Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district.
"This government has failed in resolving the power issue in the state and now it is resorting to firing on peaceful protestors," said Yadav while demanding dismissal of officials who opened fire on the rallyists.
The opposition leaders said they will continue their agitation against the NDA government in Bihar until power situation improved in the state.
