Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday flagged off the so-called Gareeb Rath between Patna and Kolkata while also flagging off Patna-Pune Express by raising its frequency from the previous two days to four days now.

With nearly 120 people taking the debut voyage from Patna to Kolkata, the 2360 down would leave Patna Junction on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:10 pm reaching Howrah Junction at 5:20 am.

From Howrah, the train would operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:50 pm arriving at Patna Junction at 5:20 am..

With 18 air conditioned coaches in the Gareeb Rath, the cost of ticket ranges between Rs. 155 to Rs. 429.

The 2149-2150 Patna-Pune Express, on the other hand would leave Patna Junction on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays returning to Patna on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Several RJD leaders and senior Railway officials were present during the flag off event.
