New PU VC Deals with Agitated Students

 Less than a week after assuming the role of the Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Shyam Lal got a taste of students politics on Tuesday when hundreds of students carrying banners and placards staged a demonstration outside the university office demanding the reinstatement of Prof. Nawal Kishore Chowdhary who was fired a day before the resignation of former PU VC Dr. Y. C. Simadri.
The police, seeing the students becoming belligerent by the minute, chased them outside the university campus causing even more discontent among the protestors.
To keep the situation from further aggravating, the VC then invited a delegate of students and held a talk with them while assuring them to consider their demands.
Sources said Lal urged the students to denounce the path of agitation and help him restore the academic environment within the university.
