With more than 100 mm of rain in the last three days, Patna once again has turned into a massive water hole making a mockery of the government's claims that the state capital was prepared to face the monsoon better than ever before.

Barring a few high-lying areas in Patna, nearly the entire city was reeling under the effects of water-logging with accumulation ranging anywhere between 8 inches to 2 feet.

Kankarbagh area was particularly affected by the rain water where every colony including Hanuman Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Postal Park, Defense Colony, Chandmari Road, and Bank Men's Colony were covered with 2 feet of water making it extremely difficult for the residents to step out of their houses.

As if that was not bad enough, several people also reported of finding snakes and other creatures inside their homes though no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.

Rain water also accumulated outside the state Assembly that ironically provided a false feeling of a natural lake within the premises.

Kadam Kuan, New Area, Bari Path, Congress Maidan, Bakerganj, Dariapur, Sabzibagh, Bhanwar Pokhar, Exhibition Road, Arya Kumar Road, Jakkanpur, Gardanibagh, Rajendra Nagar, Punaichak, Shastri Nagar, and Pataliputra Colony were equally hit with several vehicles stalled on the streets.

Later in the afternoon, the Lok Janshakti Party workers burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Nitih Kumar and Urban Development Minister Bhola Prasad to protest against the water-logging problem in Patna.
