New Governor Honored by Bihar Chambers of Commerce
Patna: July 19, 2008
Bihar Governor R. L. Bhatia, during a welcome event organized by the Bihar Chamber of Commerce in his honor in Patna on Saturday, appealed to the state industrialists to join the race of economic development across the nation and start taking advantage of the latest findings in science and technology to achieve state goals.
"It is abundantly evident that Bihar, in last few years, has made remarkable progress in the field of education, business, and investment and we have to make sure that this process of progress is not derailed and the state continues to remain on this path for a long time to come," the Governor said.
Speaking on globalization, Mr. Bhatia said that with the revolution in the Information and Technology industry, the entire world had shrunk into a small global village.
"With improved communication within the nation and across the world, it is only natural for any society to move forward in a manner never seen before. We must take advantage of these global changes and use them to improve our own conditions," he said.
Chamber president O. P. Shah welcomed the Governor while its General Secretary Pashupati Nath Pandey delivered the vote of thanks.
