Nitish Turns 57. Photo by Shashi UttamChief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday celebrated his 57th birthday in the quiet atmosphere of his home where he was interrupted only by phone calls with leaders from across the nation kept calling him to wish him a very happy birthday.

Among those who wished their best to the Chief Minister included Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani, Bihar Governor R. S. Gavai, Maharashtra Governor S. M. Krishna, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Tripura Governor D. N. Sahay, former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, Bihar State Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chowdhary, and industrialist Mukesh Ambani, among many others.

Expressing his gratitude to all who either called him or visited him, Kumar said though this was an important day in his life, he would continue to do things that he feels are important to the people of Bihar.

"We have too many things to do and many milestones to achieve and that is what I intend to do today and other days of my life," the Chief Minister said.
