Thousands of participants in Patna on Sunday took part in the 'Run for Development' – an event organized by the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) to keep the wheel of progress rolling in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who flagged off the run from the Rajendra Chowk near the Raj Bhawan.
"An environment for development has been created by the government. We cannot bring progress by waving a magic wand but we are continuing to change the direction of the state in a way that would have far-reaching positive impact in Bihar," said the Chief Minister.
Kumar encouraged the local sprinters to get inspiration from a group of South Koreans who were also participating in the 'Run for Development'.
"People from abroad are coming to Bihar and checking out the business environment in the state. They are excited about the prospects and so should be the people of Bihar," said the Chief Minister.
At Gandhi Maidan, the runners were greeted by state Industries Minister Gautam Singh, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Ram Kripal Yadav, and BIA President K. P. Jhunjhunwala who also gave out awards to the first, second, and third place winners in a number of male and female categories.
