8 Killed in Two Road Accidents in Bihar

Patna: March 3, 2008

At least eight persons were killed and nearly three dozen injured in two separate accidents in Bihar that left a lot of people behind to mourn their sudden, tragic deaths.

In the first incident, four persons on a Jeep died when the driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheel and slammed into a tree near Beljhera village in Purnia district. Eleven others on the Jeep were injured, some seriously, and were rushed to a hospital in Purnia, Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu Kumar said.

In another incident, four persons died when a bus carrying a marriage party lost control and turned over while trying to avoid collision with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in Rohtas district under Nokha police station.

All the injured were taken to a nearby hospital where eight remain in critical conditions, report said.
