Yoga guru Baba Ramdeo, during his trip to Patna on Thursday, suggested treason charges filed against Bal and Raj Thackeray for spreading hatred against fellow Indians and inciting communal violence in the name of Maratha pride.

During his meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and later at the residence of Urban Development Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey's home, Baba Ramdeo said people like Bal and Raj Thackeray deserved hard prison time for trying to destroy the unity of the nation. "Such elements are anti-nationals and should be treated as such," the guru said.

"Maharashtrians are true patriotic and have given the nation leaders like Shivaji and Veer Savarkar but the Thackerays are not one of them. It is the misfortune of Maharashtra where traitors like Bal and Raj Thackeray are trying their level best to destroy the basic social fiber of the nation," he said.

"Now everyone is talking about development in Bihar and people in general are very optimistic about the future of the state," Baba Ramdeo said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister who observed Mahashivratri at Khusrupur's ancient Baikatpur Temple on Thursday, decried constant onslaught on Biharis in Maharashtra.

"Biharis are strong and tenacious. If there was a job vacancy on the moon, they would not hesitate in going there as well, let alone Mumbai," Kumar said.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Shyam Rajak also lashed out at the Thackerays saying the uncle-nephew duo were completely insane and deserved to be committed in an asylum.

In Patna, students under the banner of various political and students' organization burnt the effigy of the 'Maharashtra Monsters' while urging the President of India to intervene in the matter and order immediate arrests of the 'traitors'.
