Bodies Recovered in Kankarbagh; Suicide Suspected

Patna: March 8, 2008

The police in Patna on Saturday night recovered the bodies of two brothers from a rented house in Kankarbagh area. The deceased were identified as 35 years old Raman and 32-year old Aman Thakur, the sons of economics professor of Samastipur College Suman Thakur.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appeared the brothers had committed suicide 3-4 days ago, Kankarbagh police station in-charge Ramakant Prasad.

As reported, the two brothers, both working as photographers, had not been since since Wednesday. On Saturday night, the neighbors broke open the door of the house owned by one Ashok Singh on Chandmari Road only to find the decomposed bodies of Raman and Aman.

With their faces turned black, one body was found on the bed while the other on the floor, the police said.

The family members of the victims were on their way from Samastipur to Patna after being notified by the police.

Autopsies are scheduled for Sunday.
