Patna: March 10, 2008

Suicide note. Photo by Shashi UttamA team of Patna police is scheduled to leave for Samastipur on Tuesday to meet with the parents of Raman and Aman Thakur, the two brothers whose bodies were found from a flat in Kankarbagh last Saturday, along with suicide notes that blame his father and other family members for pushing them to brink of suicides.

"We are trying to find out if there is any truth in the allegations made in the suicide notes left by the photographer brothers. Our men will talk to the family members, neighbors, and friends to gather information on the family background based on which a decision would be taken if legal actions are required against those mentioned in the suicide notes," Kankarbagh police station chief Ramakant Prasad said on Monday.

On Sunday, the police recovered two suicide notes left by the two brothers blaming their father for fostering an illicit affair with the wife of Raman while conspiring to disown his own sons fearing a backlash from them.

"Our bodies should not be handed over to our family members and should be cremated by the public officials," the brothers wrote in the note while also implicating their mother, father-in-law, Raman's wife, and a police sub-inspector for taking part in the conspiracy.
