Paswan Blows the Bugle of More Reservation
Patna: March 11, 2008
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, continuing his policy of reservation in everything, even at the cost of other deserving candidates, said that he would soon introduce a new bill in the Parliament that would make it unlawful to withdraw reservation once it is introduced in any sector.
"Those who are found to be in non-compliance of the reservation policies would be dealt with strictly," said Paswan who inaugurated a convention of Extreme Backward Class at Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir in Patna on Tuesday.
Paswan, who is widely considered as a one trick pony because of his single-track talk about reservation everywhere, also made the case for lifting the 50% limit on reservation to benefit the members of 109 extreme backward castes in the nation.
Reservation in judiciary and private sectors were also part of the LJP leader's rhetoric that were cleverly designed to make an inroad in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and NDA vote-banks in Bihar where a large number of people come under the category of extreme backward castes.
Earlier, party leader and former MP Ranjan Prasad Yadav criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav of rendering tremendous damage to the state by dividing the people on caste basis. He, however, touted Paswan as the real messiah of the dalits and backwards for giving voice to the most backward people in the society.
