Suspects Identified in Danapur Businessman's Murder Case

Patna: March 13, 2008

The police in Patna on Thursday launched a massive manhunt for the five killers of Danapur businessman Rajesh Kumar Gupta who was gunned down at Takiapur on Wednesday afternoon after being dragged out of his shop Ankit Telecom.

Danapur ASP Manish Kumar Tiwari said that based on the eyewitness reports, all five criminals and their hideouts had been identified and arrests were expected soon.

As reported, 40-year old Gupta was pulled out of his shop on Wednesday at around 2:30 pm and shot from close range by a group of criminals who arrived at his store on motorcycles. Continuing to fire in the air, the criminals then escaped on their motorbikes.

Family members said a day prior to the killing, Rajesh had a row with some youths after they slammed their motorcycles in his shop causing some minor damage. At that time, they left only to come back on Wednesday to avenge for their humiliation.

Raids are on to apprehend the killers.
