Clash in Danapur Leaves 4 Injured

Patna: March 16, 2008

At least half a dozen people were injured in Danapur on Sunday night when a simple argument at a vegetable market on Saturday turned violent as rival groups attacked each other with bricks, stones, and fired several rounds sending four to the hospital with one in critical condition.

As reported, the incident took place at the veggie market in Biwiganj when two men, identified as Rajkumar and Neeraj, engaged in an altercation over some issue. However, instead of resolving the disagreement on the spot, Neeraj and a handful of his goons then arrived at Rajkumar's home and opened fire at him.

In retaliation, several supporters of Rajkumar pelted stones and bricks on Neeraj's gang causing injuring to four people including Neeraj and his cousin Gyaneshwar.

The police are investigating the incident after which criminal charges will be filed against the guilty parties, Biwiganj police station in-charge Dilip Kumar said.
