Mauritius offers Jobs to 500 Youths from Bihar

Patna: March 18, 2008

Mauritius government, in the renewed cultural and emotional relationship following exchange of visits by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Mauritius Prime Minister Naveenchandra Ramgoolaam to each other's nation, has offered to hire 500 ITI trained youths from Bihar that would further strengthen ties between the 'two brothers separated at birth', as said by one government official.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, during a meeting of the labor department officials in Patna on Tuesday, informed that Mauritius-based company Filcon Cavra Limited has expressed its desire to hire 500 individuals from Bihar for different technical positions.

The hiring would be done in two batches of 250 youths each, Modi said adding the offer was the direct result of the renewed cultural relationship between the government of Bihar and the Mauritius government.

As reported before, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led a delegate of businessmen and artists to Mauritius last year while the Prime Minister of Mauritius took an emotional trip to Bihar last February to trace his ancestral root while also inaugurating a statue of his father and the father of the nation of Mauritius Sir Seewoosagar Ramgoolaam in Patna.
