Holi in Patna by and large passed off peacefully with minor incidents of Holi-related violence reported from some areas with the district administration keeping close eyes on all activities, particularly those related with intoxication under the influence of alcohol and 'bhaang'.
With young and old alike completely immersed in Holi mood, the scene at the house of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and Railway Minister, was hardly any different from other years that also included the infamous 'kapda phaad' Holi and 'launda nautch' despite a pledge to keep the event a little low key in view of the revival of the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against the RJD chief and his wife and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi. This time the lead, however, was taken by Lalu's son Tej Pratap and the RJD Youth Brigade who appeared to be having a time of their lives.
With his water tank, that also serves as a pond during Chhath festival each year, filled with colored water, party leaders like Shyam Rajak and others ensured no one escaped the 'color-squad' of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who refrained from observing Holi on account of his wife's death last year visited Raj Bhawan and wished happy Holi to Governor R. S. Gavai.
