Five Criminals Arrested, Weapons Seized

Patna: March 24, 2008

A special task force of Patna police on Monday arrested five criminals and recovered a 9mm pistol, two revolvers, live cartridges, and several cell phones from their possession indicating the criminals were planning to execute some major plan in the state capital.

As reported, based on anonymous tips, the police surrounded a hotel on Bhattacharya Road crossing. Seeing the police, the criminals started to run to take cover. They were, however, chased and captured, officials said.

The criminals were identified as Rajesh Kumar, Rahul Anand, Ranjay Kumar, Bunty, and Avinash.

All five are being interrogated in an attempt to identify and arrest other members of the gang.
